We all met up at the Aspley Hypermarket bright and early Sunday morning for a great day of 4wding.

With everyone eager to enter, our first problem of the day occurred when the key did not fit the gate at the entrance of the State Forest.

Once we got through the first gate and with that behind us, it was not long till we came to the next gate. Same problem again the key wouldn’t fit the lock.

We overcame this second hurdle and we continued on with Shane Sparozvich leading the way through the forest.

It was not long until we found a nice hill to tackle. Once the first member was up with no problems, the rest of the group followed, also without any problems.

As we continued on through the forest we came across an old Toyota Corolla. Then we heard over the radio “Isn’t this a Hard Trip”. We all had a bit of a laugh in what was a hard trip and there we see a Corolla sitting on the side of the track.

After a short break for lunch we then we had to figure out which way to get back to the White Challenger, which we had left earlier in the day.

We decided to continue along the track to our next adventure, down a pretty steep section of the forest, then up a little jump up. We all conquered this without any problems along the way.

After picking up the White Challenger along the way, it was then decided to try and unlock the gate on the Western side of the forest.

Guess what??? The same problem we had had previously in the day came back to haunt us! The key once again did not unlock the gate. We all agreed that they must have given us the wrong key.

It was then some of the group said their “Good-byes” and the rest of the group continued on in the forest.

I would like to thank Shane and Adrian for the great time we had 4wding in the State Forest.

Steven Baldwin
