Blackbutt 4wd weekend Going for gold - Medium Trip - Trip Leader Tony Richardson
Blackbutt 4wd Weekend - Going for Gold!
Arrive Friday and set up camp, Friday afternoon we'll drive down to the river and do a little detecting around where some older gold mines were and possibly a little panning depending on conditions. It's a nice swimming spot also so if time or circumstances dictate we might sit in the river and enjoy a cool beverage
Friday night there is a distinct possibility we'll visit the pub for dinner( I'll need to book btw)
Saturday morning we'll head down to the "Diggings" for some 4wding and, if time permits, check out some areas for detection or panning
Saturday evening there will be happy hour and a campfire after dinner
Sunday can be open and the possibility of a quick easy trip around the Nanango area State Forest with beautiful views over rolling hills.
Even if you're not into dirt fishing this is a great 4wd and camping trip and will challenge your 4wd skills
Blackbutt has the best bakery in south east Queensland and is central to the Brisbane valley rail trail so cycling is a possibility
Please note if high rainfall is experienced just before or during the weekend, the trip will be cancelled due to the inaccessibility of the areas we plan on visiting. You will be notified
