Presidents Ekka Long Weekend Trip – The Springs 4x4 Park (8–11 Aug 2025)

While this is advertised as a long-weekend trip, you’re welcome to pop in for a day or stay as little or as long as you like. Even if you don’t have the Monday off, The Springs is an easy weekend run.
Family and friends are welcome to come along. - Given this trip is to a 4wd park, they do not have to complete a DAP to take part as they are covered by the Parks insurance. If you do have a friend that is coming, it will be your responsibility to make sure they adhere to our club trip rules and behave accordingly.

Where: The Springs 4x4 Park, 21153 New England Highway, The Glen QLD 4350
When: Friday 8 Aug – Monday 11 Aug 2025 (arrive/leave when it suits)
Register by: Sunday 10 Aug, 10:26 am
Trip Limit: None – we’ll split into groups for runs
Access: Campsites are 2WD-accessible (trailers welcome)

Bring Your Recovery & Camping Gear

Please come prepared with your full recovery kit and usual camping setup.
Examples: shackles/soft shackles, snatch strap or kinetic rope, dampener/blanket, gloves, shovel, tyre deflator/compressor, first aid kit, UHF radio; plus tent/swags, bedding, lighting, cooking gear, water, etc.

Firewood Runs & Chainsaws

We can collect timber at the park for campfires. Daily firewood runs will be happening—most likely led by Phil Day, who’s famous for his firewood runs!
If you have a chainsaw, feel free to bring it along (plus PPE like eye/ear protection, gloves, chaps, bar oil and fuel).

Driving Plan

• Multiple tracks to suit all skill levels over the weekend

• Iconic challenges like “Beer O’Clock Hill” for those keen

Optional Saturday Night – Curry & Winter Warmers

Want in?

• Bring a pot of your favourite curry to share

• Bring a favourite winter drink to pass around after dinner (keep it a mystery—port, mulled wine, etc. are great ideas!)

Handy extras: serving spoon, heat mat, small tasting cups/glasses, your usual bowl/plate/utensils, warm layers, head torch.
