Trip Outline: 

This is a social camping trip with exploration/recce of Jimna State Forest to find more options for suitable DAP training tracks.

We will be staying at Jimna Base Camp. Jimna Base Camp is a 2-acre, flat-level, unpowered campground with amenity blocks that offer hot showers and flush toilets.

They are located in the tiny town of Jimna immersed in the Australian bush with nearby gorges, ravines, creeks, and waterfalls – some of the most wild and spectacular places to see.

There are many variations of tracks and trails that meander through the Conondale National Park and Jimna State Forest – all waiting for us to explore.

There is not much in Jimna by way of supplies, however Kilcoy is ½ hour away and there is an on-site kiosk at the campground which stocks bagged firewood, ice, espresso coffee, cold drinks, ice creams snacks etc.

The campground is pet friendly.  There is a playground and tennis/basketball court.  There is also an undercover common area with gas BBQs, fridges, town water, power-points, tables and chairs.

The plan is to have a bit of a relaxing social trip with optional drives throughout the surrounding tracks. 

We will be exploring the surrounding tracks with the intention of finding some suitable tracks for DAP training – potentially a few tracks that provide the DAP coordinator with some options when running DAP depending on weather and track conditions.  There may be some lantana clearing required whilst exploring.

There is no requirement to stay for the whole time – come along for as long or as little as suits you.  This trip starts on the first weekend of the September school holidays.
