Easter at Rocky River - TL Graham Thatcher, ATL Ann Thatcher

We will be camping on the Rocky River, about one and a half hours drive from Tenterfield on dirt and sometimes rough roads.  

We will be camping on private property, and we have to pass through locked gates to get to our camp site.  

The camping is totally off-grid, with no amenities.  There could be a drop toilet by Easter, but not guaranteed at this stage.  

So you need to come prepared to be totally self-sufficient.  

River water is definitely suitable for showers, but not for drinking.  

The trip is suitable for all members, but very importantly, if you are bringing a trailer, camper or caravan, they need to be high clearance, such as an off-road caravan.  

On road vans will be susceptible to damage.

We have 4 trip leaders, Ann and I, Paul and Sheryl Lee, Jim Basedow and Phil and Heather day.  

We have 2 great day trips planned and we will be breaking into at least 2 or more smaller groups to make it easier to get around.

We are also planning a free day to explore Tenterfield and/or other options.  

Our day trips will mostly be on dirt and there is one section that will require some low-range driving.  

It is hard to describe how beautiful this area is, so cameras are essential, and you should come prepared for cold weather as well.

Camping will be $20 per person per night, and needs to be paid in cash on arrival.
