Trip Outline: This Driver Awareness Practical training session is for club members who have not done their DAP before. The Driver Awareness Program (DAP) is done in 2 parts; 1-Theory and 2-Practical. This DAP Weekend is open for those members who have already completed their DAP Theory.
Maximum 10 DAP students plus partners/family members.
The Practical training session is held over 2 days where we teach you the basics of Four Wheel Driving. It covers basic driving techniques on a range of conditions and surfaces, recovery techniques and most importantly in a safe and responsible manner. Each student will be accompanied on drives in their own cars by a club member with DAP Advisor status to help and instruct you through the course. If you want more information just contact Nick Lagerberg.
It is a camping weekend, so you’ll need to bring along your camping equipment, either a tent, swag, camper trailer or caravan.
There is no power at this venue so you’ll be camping off grid, however there are toilets and hot showers available ($1 coin required).
You must have your own 4WD, no young children or pets to be in the vehicles whilst training as they can be a distraction. We prefer partners to be in other cars rather than the car you’re driving. As part of the Club's insurance requirements, you must complete the DAP Theory & Practical session before you can go on a medium or higher graded Club trip.
The cost of this weekend is covered by the course fee of $170.
You can arrive on Friday if you wish and stay longer, however, you'll have to pay for additional nights. Additional costs for other family members, friends, or additional days. $TBA per person per day - please advise Nick if you are bringing additional people.
If you wish to do your DAP please register for this event and complete payment to confirm a booking and receive additional details and requirements.
Limit: 10 DAP students plus partners/family members
