Family-Friendly Camping & Touring Adventure – Charlotte Plains - T/L Jenni Nicholson

Experience an unforgettable outback adventure exploring the unique beauty of Charlotte Plains, a family-owned working sheep station near Cunnamulla.

Famous for its naturally heated artesian bore baths, incredible sunsets, star-filled skies, campfires, and abundant wildlife, it's the perfect destination to relax and experience the Queensland outback. The mineral-rich artesian water rises from the Great Artesian Basin at around 42°C, making it ideal for a soak any time of the day.

Itinerary

Monday 28 September

• Travel to Goondiwindi (overnight stop – location to be confirmed).

Tuesday

• Lunch at the iconic Nindigully Pub before continuing on to Charlotte Plains.

Wednesday - onwards

• Enjoy several days relaxing in the artesian baths, exploring the station and surrounding areas, spotting wildlife and birdlife, sharing campfires, and experiencing the peace and quiet of the outback.

Sunday 4 October.

• Depart Charlotte Plains and begin the journey back to Brisbane, with an overnight stop to be confirmed.

Camping Information

Charlotte Plains offers both powered and unpowered camping. The powered Shearers' Campsites are located quite some distance from the artesian bore and bathing area, while the Bore Camp is unpowered and within walking distance of the hot artesian baths, Bore Baa, and other facilities. If you'd like to stay close to the bore water, you'll need to be prepared for off-grid camping. Fires are permitted, and firewood is available to collect on the property.
